Every day each student begins on green, "ready to learn." The goal of each student is to move from this starting point to "good choices" and "great job." This can be achieved by acts of kindness, listening and participating in class and following the classroom rules.
In the event of a disciplinary issue, these are the steps that are taken: Step #1: Teacher will draw the attention of the student(s) showing the undesired behavior. Step #2: Student's name is called and a verbal direction is given to the child. Step #3: The student will move their clip from the "ready to learn" poster to the "think about it" poster. Step #4: Student will move their clip from the "think about it" poster to the "parent contact" poster. A parent will be notified by the teacher explaining their child's behavior. Step#5: A student who does not correct behavior may be removed from the classroom and referred to an administrator. A parent will be contacted. Students will have their own behavior chart that they will fill out at the end of the day. If a student is on yellow or red at the end of the day, the teacher will write the reason and the chart will need to be signed by an adult and returned the next day. Students who are on purple throughout the week will receive a prize on Fridays!! |
